A Simple Steam Engine

A Simple Steam Engine :

Welcome back friends, today we're going to see how to make a simple steam engine at home with things most of all have at home. This is the second post in the newly launched series "The Home Science 101".Let's go...

The Materials:

  • A disk which can float on water
  • a container which can store water
  • some flexible metal tubes
  • a small candle
  • some tape / hot glue / normal glue
Step 1 Getting the disk ready:

Take the disk and make two holes on its sides, the diameter of the hole should be a bit less from the diameter of the tube which you are going to use.

Just like this :-
.
Then take the tube and bend it in a U shape and make the opposite ends facing opposite

(the tube should be hollow)

then you will need to attach both of them, therefore, I prefer that you bend the ends after inserting the ends of the tube into both of the holes of the disk.

Step 2:

Take a small candle and place it between the arc of the tube and the disk.

(It should look something like this with the ends sticking out)

Use hot-glue, tape, or something like that, to seal any gaps, but don't seal the ends of the tube ! 🤣. Then your engine is ready now, you have to float it on water and light the candle after a while it should start spinning.
