How to make Salt crystals

Welcome back friends, this is the first post in the newly launched series "The Home Science 101". Today we're looking at how to make salt crystals at home with household materials.

Crystallization

Description

Description

Crystallization or crystallisation is the process by which a solid forms, where the atoms or molecules are highly organized into a structure known as a crystal. Some of the ways by which crystals form are precipitating from a solution, freezing, or more rarely deposition directly from a gas.

Materials required :

These are the materials that you would need to do this:-

  • A Container
  • A stick or any other object like that
  • Some thread or rope
  • Hot water
  • And the Main ingredient, Salt

Step 1:

Pour the hot water into the container and dissolve salt in it.

Step 2:

Tie the stick and the thread, on the other end tie a metallic piece, and submerge it in the container with the saline water

Eventually, after a few days, there should be a crystal growing on the ends/tips of the metallic piece. The longer you keep it in the water the larger the crystal grows
