More than 10,000 used to students studied at Takshasila University. The campus accommodated students who came from as far as Greece, Arabia, and China.
Courses:
The campus offered different courses in various fields such as:
- Vedas
- Grammar
- Philosophy
- Ayurveda
- Agriculture
- Surgery
- Politics
- Archery
- Warfare
- Astronomy
- Commerce
- Futurology
- Music
Infrastructure:
The campus covered a huge area, it had 3 blocks RatnaSagar, Ratnodavi, and Ratnayanjak. It also modern facilities which most of the modern institutes have, these were :
- Laboratories
- Ambudharaavlehi for astronomical research
- Massive library called Dharma Gunj
Admissions:
Admissions were done through an entrance exam, just like today's IIT-JEE and NEET exams but more difficult and with more competition because there were students from all over the world. There was no gender, cast, and social discrimination. After the students pass the exam the can choose which ever field the wanted to go in-depth.
